Long time no Blog lol again i have left it ages before posts

whats happening?.... well I am now 27 weeks pregnant, it seems to have gone real fast this time!

On the Baabinti front it is almost a year since I started Baabinti so in celebration i will be haveing a special stocking in mid June. There will be Scrabble tile pendants and bracelets, Longies and some more yummy yarn.

On Wahmnaps we have just had another theme in the Made with Love store. Baabinti is auctioning a wonderful bracelet made from rare burgundy scrabble tiles, Robert Kaufman inspired images and Jasper beads - i am very proud of this one. Auction ends Monday!!!!

I have removed all the summer stock from my wahmnaps store. but you can still find it in my etsy store.

Now there is some room in Wahmnaps i will start listing some warming yummy woolies.

The first pair of winter longies is now up. They have a gorgeous cable down the side and have been dip dyed in nice warm colours.

A few weeks ago we had an amniocentesis test and the results have just come back. I have spent the last to weeks very nervous and now i can relax. All is well and there are no genetic abnormalities!!!!! Also the best bit is we now know that our baby is 100% a GIRL!

So i can now go buy all that yummy pink goodness i have been admiring!

On the Baabinti Front, we have a new logo!

The Logo was designed by Tracey at TB Cards. She was sooooooo fantastic. I had no idea how to incoorporate Yarn and scrabble tiles into one logo but she did it and was so patient.

Also I am proud to announce that Baabinti Tiles can now be found IRL. The wonderul Zena at EcoChix in Bunbury WA had recently become my first stockist! how exciting!!!

Currently all woolies in my wahmnaps store are discounted - so grab a bargin as i will be taking them down soon to make room for longies and wintery things! Also all scrabble tiles come with free accessories.

I have recently added some new designs to the Wahmnaps Store. I have some more Designer inspired Tiles (Robert Kaufman and Alexander Henry) and some cute ones for the kids and teens. I have already done 2 sets of the best friends tiles for some young girls!

Once again it has been ages since i have posted! We have been very busy with School holidays and other things. Stephen and Kayla are back at school now which leaves me more time for blogging!.

Over the break we had confirmation of my pregnancy. OMG yes number 4 will be joining us sometime in August or September. The actual due date is Jacinta's 3rd birthday (talk about timing!!)

Anyway i just want to wish you all a wonderful 2009. I'll be back soon with some more Baabinti News :)

Scrabble Tile Pendants - my new obsession

due to a injury i have had to cut down on the knitting, but happily i have found a new obession!!!

SCRABBLE TILE PENDANTS !!!!!

I have made some fantastic ones for freinds and family and now i have listed them in my Wahmnaps Store and my new store on Madeit.

I really love the different things you can do and i'm having heaps of fun

Gradient Dyeing

I was really fascintated with different types of dyeing

I wanted to get that affect of changing colour or fading colour without changing wool

I searched the net and really could not find a clear method so i tryed it 2 different ways

The first one, I hand wound the yarn into a ball and soaked it (for ages!!!)

Then i sat it in some dye for a few minutes.

I took it out and unravelled the yarn till it was white again.

Next, I diluted the dye and repeated the process

each time diluting, until in the end it was only barely coloured.

Then i cooked it as usual.

Here is the result!!

For the second method, i wanted to try changing colours.

This time i made the ball into 6 mini-skeins, still joined together

I put each skein in plastic cups and soaked them.

I then emptied each cup and refilled with dye.

Next , I removed the yarn from the dye and wrapped each colour individually in plastic wrap to avoid colour bleeding.

then cooked in the steamer.

I was really impressed with how it turned out!!

reminded me of Life savers!

I used the yarn to make this gorgeous skirt that recently sold in my store. It knitted up beautiful, and no changing balls!!!

OMG how long has it been

i have been so slack posting here

I have recently got a "real" job which has been a interesting adjustment as i have been a stay at home mum for 10 years. It is great to be working outside the home as well as being a WAHM.

so what else have i been up to???

Jacinta just turned 2 (boy that went fast) i will write more about that soon........

Also i have been dyeing up a storm. I really love dyeing and have had a play with some different methods which i will detail in the next few days. I am dyeing much faster than i can knit so i have decide to sell some of my dyed wool in my store too.

I was impressed with how it turned out

My next project is some really cool summer shorties for boys and some great christmas sets
